How Live Wedding Illustration Works: What to expect on the day
Step 1 - Guests are photographed throughout the day
We approach guests and introduce ourselves, taking photos of the first few guests to get the ball rolling. This tends to get everyone’s attention and draws them over to our station - the fun is truly beginning and the excitement builds as guests talk to each other about what a delightful surprise this is!
Step 2 - Illustrations are created live using the reference photos
Back at our station, the illustrations are created live while guests mingle and enjoy cocktail hour. My teammate continues to capture guests’ photos through the day and guests are welcome to watch and have a chat while we paint! Individual portraits take approximately 8 minutes and couples can be sketched in 10-12 minutes.
Step 3 - Guests receive their personalised portraits to take home
Completed illustrations are displayed for guests to admire and collect before the end of the night. Guests love receiving their personalised portraits to take home and there are always so many kind words shared on the night!
Step 4 - Post-party portraits are available as a thoughtful add-on.
If you decide to book post-party portraits to capture more guests portraits from the day, these will be completed in-studio and sent to you in the weeks following your wedding.

How long does each illustration take?
About 8 minutes for an individual and 10-12 minutes for couples. Yes, it’s that quick!
Do guests pose live?
I take a reference photo of each guest to sketch from when they arrive, so guests are free to mingle and check back in with me throughout the day.
How many guests can be illustrated?
I aim to cover up to 60 guests in 4 hours under my Essentials Live Illustration Package.
More guests can be covered by booking additional hours or adding on post-party portraits!
Is live illustration suitable for
cocktail hour?
Cocktail hour is the perfect time to begin your live guest illustrations!
Watching me create their portraits live while relaxing with a drink and soaking in the beautiful atmosphere is a gorgeous way to celebrate.
Can illustrations be completed after the wedding?
Absolutely! Post-Party Portraits can be completed in-studio after your wedding and will be sent to you in the following weeks.
Do you travel outside Sydney?
Yes I do! I frequently work with couples at venues on the South Coast and Hunter Valley regions in addition to Sydney.
I am also available to travel within Australia and overseas.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as possible, to avoid missing out on your date!
September through to April tends to be the busiest time of the year for weddings and availability can quickly become limited, so please enquire early to avoid disappointment.
